We’re delighted that representatives from businesses from within and outside of London could join us for our first Construction for Good breakfast meeting on 21 April 2026.

Delegates heard from our Chair about opportunities to help create a more equal Haringey by giving locally and releasing social value to transform lives and uplift communities.

The event, which was kindly hosted by Linklaters at their stunning new offices in central London, was buzzing.

Joanna Keefe from Linklaters talked about their keen commitment to supporting Haringey Giving as founding Board members.

Board member Mark Swinburne from Stories shared how Haringey Giving acts as a connector for businesses and communities in Haringey.
Joe Holmes from family run business Alexander James Contracts Ltd shared how they’re punching above their weight, releasing social value locally.
Through their partnership with Haringey Giving, last year alone they’ve been making an impact, transforming lives through local community initiatives.
Their commitment of £35,000 last year has matched donations and supported many people experiencing inequality and disadvantage in Haringey.

Mickela Hall-Ramsay from award-winning local group and grantee HR Sports Academy talked about the positive experience of being funded and supported by Haringey Giving
The organisation, which is based in Markfield Park has received grants through our Together We Can Fund and is Changing Lives Fund delivery partner.
Mickela introduced young people who had helped shape and deliver funded projects, and who had benefited directly from Haringey Giving.
Jaydeine and Regan shared how corporate giving had given rise to opportunities that had helped young people move forward in their lives and careers.

Marlene Boateng from Haringey Council gave an overview of their inclusive Economy Framework, Opportunity Haringey.
The presentation included the council's commitment to local labour, accredited skills training, apprenticeships, STEM and career education, work placements, local business support and local procurement.
The event was preceded and followed with networking over a delicious breakfast provided by Linklaters.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us for the early morning briefing, despite the travel challenges on the day.
We would also like to thank everyone who helped to make the event a success, including construction businesses, our valued partners, our inspiring grantees.
Thanks to Linklaters and their amazing team and our wonderful, dedicated volunteers for helping make the event a such  success.
