Your kindness is providing much needed support through eleven community projects

We hope you're delighted that your support has helped fund more life-changing projects to enable people experiencing inequality and disadvantage in Haringey to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Haringey Giving's Together We Can Fund supports three priority areas for action locally. These were established based on local insight and data gathered from residents, communities and public sector agencies across Haringey. Through the Fund, you're:

  • Enabling children and young people to live their best lives, including addressing the serious impact of knife and gun crime
  • Improving mental health and tackling loneliness and social isolation, including among older people
  • Enhancing skills and enterprise,including activities and projects by, with and for people living in Haringey who are refugees or from migrant backgrounds.

Here's the difference you're making

Campsbourne Community Collective
Befriending support for older people, £4,671

A year-long pilot project to enable isolated older people to build connections across the Campsbourne estate. Up to 20 older isolated adults from the Bedale House and Stokely Court retirement homes will benefit. Skilled, trained volunteers from the estate, will enable them to build networks, develop new friendships and access local support services.

Friends of Living Under One Sun
Connecting older people through nature, £4,900

A year of seasonal events, training and workshops for families and older people experiencing loneliness. Older people will meet others, connect with neighbours, learn new skills and access healthy food. They will learn about food growing, saving nature, recycling and reducing waste and get involved in growing, gardening and creative activities.

Goan Community Association
Reducing loneliness for seniors, £4,400

Improving mental and physical activities for 50 senior residents for one year. Enabling older people to overcome loneliness and isolation, develop friendships in a welcoming social space. Goan seniors will enjoy weekly dominoes, culturally themed healthy dinners and engaging activities for cognitive stimulation and memory improvement. 

Haringey Circle
Social activities and skills for older people £5,000

Reducing loneliness, enhancing physical and wellbeing and enabling older people through: encouraging connections with others, being physically active, learning new skills, contributing and developing self-awareness. Activities include cookery classes, lunches, art classes, photography, line dancing, trips out, Tai Chi, Spanish classes and other life-transforming activities.

Haringey Community Food Network
Culture and connections through Recipes of Love, £4,950

Bringing people together using food to share cultural stories, and foster meaningful dialogue. Participants can choose recipes that are affordable, personal, and may be linked to cultural heritage or family history. Activities include: cooking with local chefs, public tasting, exploring the cultural significance of food, favourite dishes and creating a Community Cookbook.

Hooyo Hub UK
Enabling parents to support their child's learning, £5,000

Helping parents build practical skills and confidence to support their child’s early learning including literacy, speech, and language development. Up to 30 families with children aged 2–5 will join fortnightly play and story sessions. Additional support will be offered to refugee and migrant families who feel isolated or struggle to access mainstream services.

Paths Through Change
Supporting children through parental relationship breakdown, £5,000

Ten children aged 6-11 years will be enabled over six months around mental health, conflict resolution, relationship skills. They will be able to share feelings and stories of their lives with peers who have similar experiences. Weekly club-based activities will include youth work and play therapy sessions.

Read Easy Haringey
Enabling adults to learn to read, £1,000

Providing long lasting, life-changing support by increasing literacy for people in Haringey. New readers will develop essential life skills through structured support, literature resources and signposting for further learning. Four new reading pairs will be established and training support provided for volunteer coaches.

Roj Womens Association
Enabling women experiencing domestic abuse to start their journey of recovery, £5,000

Kurdish and Turkish women will access timely, culturally relevant support through 20 bilingual group therapy sessions. Tailored for women who are unable to access mainstream services due to language barriers. They will gain comfort, prompt support, shared healing, a sense of community and reduced waiting times. 

Tech Together
Digital inclusion through skills and support, £5,000

Enabling older people and people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to overcome isolation, strengthen social connections and access services. Skills include: using smartphones, tablets, computers; accessing online services; email, online forms, using council and government websites, mobile apps, job searching, health services, online banking.

Ozer Umagen
Reducing isolation, improving wellbeing for differently-abled young people, £5,000

40 young Orthodox Jewish people who experience barriers to mainstream support due to their disabilities and cultural background will gain support and a sense of belonging. Activities will enable young people to overcome isolation, improve wellbeing, develop practical and life skills and access volunteering.
